Blackhall Bowling Club was founded in 1898. Some 17 years later in 1915, and coninciding with the opening of the Club's new Green and Clubhouse, ladies were first admitted as playing members of the club.

The Ladies of the Club celebrated their Centenary in 2015 and a number of special events and games took place throughout the year to suitably mark the occassion.

To commemorate their 100th birthday, the Ladies gifted a clock to the Club and this was unveiled on Opening Day by Jess Waugh, the oldest current lady member and Jenny Clark, the Club President for Season 2015.

The longest serving lady member, Sadie Allen threw the special silver jack, first thrown 100 years before, to start the 2015 season.
